Matilda Mecini, (born November 7, 1988 in Tirana,
Albania), is the newly crowned Miss Albania 2008.
Mecini studies World Literature in the University
of Tirana. She is also a Basketball player and was
the team leader of the professional basketball
team Tirana when she was only sixteen years old.
Matilda started modeling in her mid teen years for
Sherri Hill and Roberto Cavalli, she has than
modeled for many other fashion designers in
England, France,Italy, USA and of course her
homeland Albania. Mecini is a business manager at
K Models modeling agency in Tirana, Albania. She
speaks Albanian, English, Italian and French.
Known for her resemblance to legendary movie star
Marilyn Monroe, she is one of the favorites this
year to win the Miss Universe crown. Matilda beat
out 37 other candidates to win Miss Albania 2008.
Mecini is the beauty queen that represented
Albania in the Miss Universe 2008 pageant, which
was held in Nha Trang, Vietnam on July 14, 2008. |
